Frequently Asked Questions
Do you write resumes for all types of clients?
I work with clients who have a background in retail management and that includes multi-unit managers (area managers, district managers, regional managers) as well as store managers, assistant store managers, and department managers. The majority of my clients are in store operations but I occasionally take on clients from loss prevention as well. Unfortunately I don't work with corporate executives or people from other areas of retail (buying, marketing, HR, finance, supply chain, etc.) as that's not my area of expertise. If you're unsure whether my service would be a good fit, send me an email.
Do you write resumes for people in all types of retail?
Definitely. Over the last 10+ years, I have worked with thousands of leaders from every major retail company in North America including specialty stores, big box stores, small box stores, department stores, factory outlets, off-price stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, fast food restaurants, coffee chains, and warehouse clubs.
Do you write resumes for people who want to leave retail?
Definitely. Many of my clients stay in retail but many others choose to move on to new industries. Although I don't require clients to let me know where they end up, I have heard from many people over the years who have successfully transitioned to a new field. What you do with your resume is up to you - my focus is to show future employers how talented and successful you are!
Do you write resumes for people all over the world?
No, I only take on clients from the United States and Canada because other countries often have different resume customs and expectations (and different retailers) that I'm not completely familiar with. I don't take on clients if I'm not 100% confident that I'm their best option. Their job search success is more important than me gaining an additional client.
Do you also write LinkedIn profiles?
Yes and no. I don't write something separately for LinkedIn, however your new resume provides content that you may wish to copy over to your LinkedIn profile, keeping in mind confidentiality and other factors.
What is your process?
Upon receipt of payment, I prepare and send you a very detailed and comprehensive questionnaire to fill out. Once it is completed and returned, I then create your resume.
What will I get?
You will receive the finished resume in Microsoft Word and PDF formats. I also give my clients a comprehensive job search manual (60+ pages) that includes sample cover letters and information on LinkedIn profiles, targeted job searching, thank you letters, emailing, applying, networking, and much more.
Do you have any reviews from past clients?
I have received more than 300 written recommendations on LinkedIn from clients all across the United States and Canada. Feel free to visit my LinkedIn profile and scroll down to the recommendations section. I have also included several excerpts here.
How much does it cost?
My fee typically ranges from $300 to $500, depending on the person's background, depth of work experience, and job target. Contact me for a firm, no-obligation quote or if you have any questions:
