Why? Because most of your competitors will take the month off!
There's long been a sense out there that job searching through the holidays is a waste of time:
Trust me, a lot of people get hired in December.
I see tons of job postings in my LinkedIn feed every day through the holiday season (okay, maybe not EVERY day), just like any other time of year, and I routinely share them in my groups, Retail Careers USA (48,000 members) and Retail Careers Canada (14,000 members). Check them out.
People do change jobs this time of year, just like every other time of year. People quit. They get promoted. New stores open. Sales exceed expectations. Positions come up.
They really do.
Don't believe me? Here's what others think:
Job searching is a competition and you can gain an advantage over your peers by getting out there when so many others are in hibernation. What do you have to lose?
Best of luck, and happy holidays!
